The Blue House is an Almshouse and Frome’s oldest homeless charity with a long history reaching back to the fifteenth century. It has for over 500 years been providing accommodation for those who find themselves in need and without accommodation in later life. It is administered by a voluntary Board of Trustees with 17 flats located on an island in the centre of Frome, with a considerable well-maintained garden running to its rear. It is a Registered Social Landlord, registered with the Regulator of Social Housing, affiliated to the Almshouse Association and is a Registered Charity, managed and maintained by 4 part time staff.
